There you go. I've had people try and pull this crap with me before, and I have yet to fall for it. Even on small trades, I always double check the amounts, because people are jackasses and will take advantage of you.

Try not to get too discouraged by it. It really does suck that you were taken for 90K, but you've learned a valuable lesson, I would imagine.

Or he more likely put you on ignore....

Another reason I hate this type of scam is that if you truly forget to empty your inventory or can't accept the gold, people automatically get suspicious and expect a scam after that, which makes you look bad.

You can only report people in the same district as you. Accepting a trade doesn't have anything to do with it.

Always double check , ectos ... 100k , high end items, are difficult trades, and most of them want to scam. So double and double check , count the money , item or whatever, take your time and then click the accept button.

Sorry for your loss, hope you can recover soon , and don't forget to double check

He probably never appeared online because he put you on ignore. Most "scams" are the result of carelessness on the victims part, like the OP, and I am quite certain unless it involves someone trying to misrepresent what they are selling (frozen ecto instead of real ecto, or mursaat tokens) then there is no way for anet to say with complete certainty whether it was actually a scam or simply a bad judgement call on the person's part.

I'm not saying this from a standpoint of "its all your fault" because ive been there and had it happen to me in many worse ways. But look at it this way, is it really a scam if I happen to buy a 80k mini for 10k? The seller got the amount he wanted, which means it isn't a scam to him. However if he took the time to look on guru or even get a half decent pc from a random person, he would know the value. In the same way if the OP or most of us took the time to look at what is being offered in trade instead of being on a constant GO RED ENGINE GO rush, then we would all be "victims" alot less.

Agreeing to pay 80K for a mini that you could get elsewhere for 10K, is quite a different situation from someone agreeing to pay you 10K and then putting 100gold in the window hoping you don't notice.

Old, very common scam. Talk to support, they might ban the guy if you took screenshots.

We can't help, and this will turn into LOL U GOT OWND garbage.
